Key dates month by month
Here is the same tentative engineering schedule laid out by month, which is easier to scan when you are planning trips home or internships.
- July 2026: II to IV year enrolment on 20 July and classes from 21 July.
- August 2026: first year enrolment 1 to 7 August, orientation 10 to 14 August, classes from 17 August.
- November 2026: practicals from 10 November (II to IV year) and 16 November (I year); last working day 20 November for II to IV year; theory exams tentatively from 25 November.
- December 2026: first year last working day 7 December; first year theory exams tentatively from 14 December.
- January 2027: even semester enrolment 6 January, classes from 7 January.
- April and May 2027: practicals from 26 April, last working day 5 May, theory exams tentatively from 12 May.
- July 2027: next odd semester enrolment tentatively on 19 July.
First year students start almost a month later than seniors, so their exams also run later in December. If you have a sibling in another year, do not assume your dates match.
Why SRM calendar dates can change
SRM itself marks the exam dates as tentative, and the schedule PDF carries no version number or issue date. That means a revised schedule could replace it without an obvious label. A few practical habits help:
- Note where you got each date and when you checked it.
- Recheck the official PDF link on srmist.edu.in a few weeks before each key event.
- Treat dates in WhatsApp forwards and coaching ads as unconfirmed until you see them on an official page.
- For the final exam dates for each course, the CoE examination time table is the reference, not the academic schedule.
Using the calendar to plan
- Attendance: classes end on the last working day, so there is no time to recover after it. Keep 75 percent in each course before then with the attendance calculator.
- Hall tickets: download from the Student Portal before theory exams start.
- Results: follow after exams. See SRM semester results.
- Travel: book refundable tickets until the final exam time table is out.
