SRM Academia is the student portal of SRMIST, found at the official address academia.srmist.edu.in, where students sign in with their SRM NetID to see attendance, timetable and marks. This page explains how the login works, how to reset a forgotten password and how to avoid fake pages.
This is an independent guide. It has no login box and never asks for your details. Every link below goes to an official SRMIST page.

What is SRM Academia?
Safety first. This is an unofficial, independent guide and does not run any SRM portal or ask for your login. Before typing your password, check that the address bar shows the official SRM domain. Never share your password or OTP with apps, seniors or websites. Third-party apps such as Class Pro and SRM Helper are not run by SRM, so think carefully before giving them your Academia password.
SRMIST's official Students page lists Academia with the label "Academia - Student Portal" and links it to https://academia.srmist.edu.in/. It is used by students at the SRMIST campuses: Kattankulathur (KTR), Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Delhi-NCR (Ghaziabad) and Tiruchirappalli.
Students search for it in many ways: academia srm, academia srm portal, academia srm ktr, academia x srm. They all mean the same official site.
SRM's academic ERP is built on Zoho Creator, according to a Zoho customer case study. That page describes students registering for courses through a mobile app, choosing optional subjects and receiving a timetable with subjects, faculty, building and classroom maps. The case study does not use the name "Academia", so the link between the two is a reasonable inference, not an official statement.
SRM University AP, SRM University Sonepat and SRM University Sikkim are separate universities. Academia is for SRMIST. SRM AP students should read the SRM AP student portal guide instead.
How to do the SRM Academia login safely
- Type academia.srmist.edu.in yourself in the browser, or open it from the official SRMIST Students page. Avoid links from WhatsApp forwards or ads.
- Check the address bar. The domain must end in srmist.edu.in, with nothing extra before or after it.
- Sign in with your SRM NetID and its password. The exact wording on the Academia login screen could not be checked for this guide, so follow what the official page shows.
- Once signed in, look for attendance, timetable and marks sections.
- On a shared or lab computer, sign out and close the browser when done.
Your NetID is the part of your SRM email before the @ sign. For example, if your email is xx0000@srmist.edu.in, your NetID is xx0000. SRM's NetID and Email Policy says student accounts are created automatically by the ERP, and student emails follow the pattern of two letters from your name plus four random digits.
One NetID, many SRM services
The SRMIST NetID and Email Policy (version 1.2, dated 27 March 2025, owned by the Directorate of ITKM) says the NetID exists for single sign on. In plain words, one password opens your SRM Google email, Drive and ERP access.
That is why your Academia password matters so much. Anyone who has it can potentially read your SRM email, your Drive files and your academic records.
- SRM email runs on Google Workspace for Education.
- The password must not contain your personal name or your NetID.
- The policy says official communications should not be forwarded to personal email accounts.
- After graduation you keep a lifetime email tagged "(alumni)", with Drive access ended and 1 GB storage.
SRM Academia attendance, timetable and marks
Academia is where SRMIST students commonly check attendance (srm academia attendance, srm attendance check), their timetable and internal marks. This is widely reported by students and by the unofficial tools built around Academia; SRM's own Students page simply calls it the student portal.
Reading your attendance
Under SRMIST Regulations 2021 for B.Tech and M.Tech Integrated, you need at least 75 percent attendance in each course. Below that, you cannot write the end semester exam for that course and get an "I" grade. The regulations also use codes: H for 95 percent and above, 9 for 85 to 94, 8 for 75 to 84 and L for below 75.

Internal marks
For a theory course, Continuous Learning Assessment (CLA) is worth 60 percent and the end semester exam 40 percent. You can turn marks into grades and SGPA with the SRM CGPA calculator.
Students who joined in 2025 or later in Medicine and Health Sciences, Law, Management, or Science and Humanities (not Ph.D.) also get the StudentConnect portal and JUNO Campus app, which show attendance and internal marks. See SRM ERP and student apps.
Forgot your Academia password? Reset your NetID
Because Academia uses your NetID, a forgotten password is reset through SRM's NetID self service portal at https://ssp.srmist.edu.in/. The official user guide lists these steps:
- Open ssp.srmist.edu.in and check the domain.
- Type your NetID and the captcha.
- Enter the OTP sent to your personal email. Never read this OTP out to anyone.
- Set a new password that meets the rules shown on screen.
- Wait for the success message, then sign in to Academia with the new password.

Common SRM Academia login problems
SRM has not published an official list of Academia error messages, so treat any list you see online with care. What is documented:
- Account locked: five wrong passwords within 5 minutes locks the account for 10 minutes. Wait, then try once carefully.
- Forgot password: use ssp.srmist.edu.in as above.
- Left SRM: accounts of students who discontinue are disabled and deleted after one month.

Should you use ClassPro or other Academia apps?
Several student-made apps and GitHub projects read data from Academia, such as ClassPro and various Academia scraper APIs. None of them is run by SRM.
SRM's NetID is single sign on. Giving an unofficial app your NetID password gives it the same access as your SRM Google account: email, Drive and ERP. If you have already done this and feel unsure, reset your password at ssp.srmist.edu.in.

These are unofficial tools not run by SRM. Your NetID password also opens your SRM email and Drive, so think carefully before sharing it with any third party.
