How to choose a room type
- Budget first: Kaari (non-AC, common bath, 4 and 5 sharing) at Rs 1,18,000 and JA Block 2 (non-AC, attached, 7 sharing, off campus) at Rs 1,10,000 are the lowest totals.
- Middle: Adhiyaman non-AC 3 sharing with attached bath is Rs 1,53,000; Oori AC with common bath is Rs 1,88,000.
- Top end: AC attached rooms in Adhiyaman and N Block cost Rs 2,23,000 to Rs 2,73,000.
- On campus or off: Green Pearl and JA Block 2 are off campus, so think about the daily trip to class.

SRM hostel booking steps
Based on the 2026 circular for first-year boys:
- Finish online verification and get your Student Net ID created.
- Book through the student portal, as described in the circular.
- Check your bank's online transaction limit beforehand, since hostel and mess fees are large payments.
- Log in on only one device while booking.
- Pick your block and room type. Room numbers are allocated later.

What to carry at hostel check-in

- Two passport-size photos.
- The undertaking, profile and medical forms. SRM emails these about a week before reopening.

This is one of the most searched questions, but an exact official 4-year figure does not exist. Hostel fees for senior years were not collected, and fees can change each year. What can be computed is year one, and a rough 4-year figure if every year cost the same as year one.

- SRM AP, Trichy, Ramapuram and Delhi-NCR (Ghaziabad): hostel fees were not collected. SRM AP mentions full scholarships that waive tuition and accommodation, without amounts.

- Valliammai (group college): hostel amounts appear only in an image on its fee page, labelled 2025-26.
