The best official answer to "SRM average package" is the NIRF data SRMIST filed: the median salary for its 2023-24 B.Tech graduates was Rs 6,20,000 a year, and 4,210 of 4,552 graduates were placed. NIRF reports the median, not the average, and does not report the highest package.
Higher figures such as a "55 LPA highest package" come from university marketing or education portals, and they are labelled below with their source. This is an unofficial guide, not an SRM placement office.

How to read these numbers
- Median, not average. The median is the middle salary: half the placed students got more and half got less. A few very high offers can pull an average up, but they do not move the median much. That makes the median a more realistic figure for a typical student.
- Placement rate. For 2023-24 B.Tech, 4,210 of 4,552 graduates placed works out to about 92.5 percent (this guide's calculation). The base is students who graduated in minimum time, so it is not the same as "all students who joined".
- Trend. The B.Tech median rose from Rs 4.49 lakh (2021-22) to Rs 6.1 lakh (2022-23) and Rs 6.2 lakh (2023-24).
- Scope. This is SRMIST's engineering category submission, filed for SRMIST as one institution. It does not split figures by campus or branch.

One top offer tells you little about a typical outcome. Ask which year, which branch and how many students got offers at that level.
SRM CSE average package and campus-wise figures
Many students search for the SRM KTR CSE average package, or figures for Ramapuram, Ghaziabad or SRM AP CSE. No official branch-wise or campus-wise average was found for this guide. The NIRF file gives one median for all SRMIST B.Tech graduates together.
Branch-wise numbers on forums or social media are usually unverified. If you need them, ask the placement office of the specific campus for the official report, and check whether the figure is a median or an average.

Comparing package with fees
A simple check is to compare the median salary with your total cost. The SRMIST programme page lists B.Tech CSE at Kattankulathur at Rs 4,75,000 per year in tuition (no academic year printed). Over 4 years that is Rs 19,00,000 in tuition, by this guide's arithmetic, assuming the fee stays flat, which SRM does not guarantee. Hostel and mess are extra.
Against a median of Rs 6.2 lakh a year, that helps you think about loans and payback time. Fees differ a lot by campus and branch, so compare using SRM B.Tech fees and hostel fees.
How to check SRM placement data yourself
- Open www.nirfindia.org and go to the latest rankings year.
- Find "S.R.M. Institute of Science and Technology" in the category you care about, such as Engineering.
- Open the institution's data PDF and scroll to the placement and higher studies table.
- Note the graduating year, number placed and median salary.
- For a different SRM university, repeat with that university's own entry. Ranks and data do not carry across.
