SRM University Sonipat, officially SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, is a state private university at Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonepat, Haryana. It is a sister institution of SRMIST but a separate university with its own website, srmuniversity.ac.in.

What SRM University Haryana is
According to Wikipedia, SRM University Sonepat was set up in 2013 under the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2013. That makes it a state private university, not a campus of SRMIST, which is a deemed university based in Chennai.
The university files its own NIRF data under the name "SRM University Delhi-NCR", and it publishes its own fee structure and grading rules. Degrees are awarded by SRM University Sonepat, not SRMIST.

Extra charges on the same page: library and sports Rs 6,000 a year, career development Rs 10,000 to 25,000 depending on course, a one-time non-refundable registration and counselling fee of Rs 10,000 to 15,000, and a refundable Rs 10,000 security deposit. Semester exam fees are separate. At Rs 3,00,000 a year, B.Tech CSE tuition works out to Rs 12,00,000 over four years if fees stay flat, which is not guaranteed. Sonepat grading and CGPA
Sonepat publishes its own SGPA and CGPA note, which differs from SRMIST's O to F scale:

SGPA and CGPA are credit weighted. The note gives no percentage conversion and no issue date. The SRM CGPA calculator uses the SRMIST scale, so adjust grade points if you are a Sonepat student.
SRMJEEE waivers for Sonepat
The SRMIST scholarships page gives Sonepat its own B.Tech rank bands: Founder's 100% for ranks 1 to 15, Merit 100% for 16 to 45, 100% for 46 to 100 (not for IBM, Xebia or TCS industry-partnered programmes), 75% for 101 to 500, 50% for 501 to 1000, 25% for 1001 to 5000 and 10% for 5001 to 10000. No official Sonepat student portal or ERP address was found in this research. SRM Academia belongs to SRMIST, and nothing confirms that Sonepat students use it. Get the correct login link from your department or the university website, and never sign in through a link sent by an unknown person or app.

For B.Tech, Sonepat is a separate choice on the official SRMJEEE page, so pick "Sonepat" and not "Delhi-NCR" if this is the university you want. In 2026 SRMJEEE ran in three phases, each needing its own Rs 1,400 application, and counselling was held after each phase. The 100% waiver for ranks 46 to 100 excludes the IBM, Xebia and TCS industry-partnered programmes, so check which B.Tech variant you are choosing before you lock it.
